All about the la la la

So the past two weekends were all about the music. Suddenly, I was going to concerts right and left!

Reel Big Fish was Reel Big Fun and all that, but turns out that they were preceded by three crazy punk bands! And you know what dat means: mosh pit! Nellie, crazy punk rocker grrl that she is, flung herself into the mosh pit with abandon. She & Jim raged away while the rest of us hung back on the fringes, trying not to get sucked in. And when it was all said and done, Nellie came away with a giant boot print on her arm and a bruised lip. Jim took an elbow to the face, but he and his glasses (which he wore into the mosh pit like a dork) were miraculously unscathed. Goldfinger played, and while they're not normally my thing, their cover of "99 Red Balloons" is freakin' SWEET dude. And then RBF played and they totally ruled, and were very fun and played all of the (few) songs that I know. The end.

And then this weekend I went to the Symphony, and the next night went and saw some wicked bluegrass courtesy of The Hackensaw Boys. So I figure I've got all my musical bases covered.

In other news, I finally got around to downloading the ABOFL pilot from abitof, and OMG they're so cute! So young! So innocent! Hugh's hair is so...fluffy, and they're just so fresh-faced...awwww. I've got all the eps now, and I think I don't like S4 as much as the rest. S2 though? GOLD.

In other other news, I've still been devouring the SGA goodness, and since I discovered sga_newsletter it's only gotten worse. Now it's more like trying to drink from a firehose. But a very well-organized firehose. All broken into seperate sections so you can go right for the McShep, or root around for videos, and OMG how many fanvids have I downloaded lately? SO MANY. Many are bahleeted immediately because they suck, but there are quite a few good ones. The best one evereverEVER is this one. It's a medley. It's a work of genius. I downloaded it when it was posted last month, and have probably watched it an average of once a day since then. It's funny EVERY TIME.

Also? For some reason, I have decided that "Sugar Bomb Baby" by Industrial Salt is a McShep song. Because I'm insane, I think. But, no, seriously, it so works because this:

Run with me, set me free
Open every locked door you see

describes every single off-world mission that they go on, ever. For reals, yo.
