Team Ragnarok and WRGP final boss battles was..just beautiful.. ;__;
So they pretty much managed to win legitly, without magically making up new powers on the spot! The designs for each match also improved a lot since GX days - heck, even compared to season one! A lot less recyling the same combo and more complicated timing/chaining used in OCG, important people actually losing since it's 3VS.3, and still ends up with an epic last turn finish (Yusei v. Aporia last turn, too beautiful AAAAHH.;~;) The sideseats guys are a lot more useful too. So instead of the usual "GO MAIN CAST GO", they now offer thorough explanation of intermediate OCG rules using what happened in each chain. Enforcement through example = way better than reading tl;dr OCG rule page. Man, to think I expected the whole tournament to be a bunch of drag fillers.. AAAHH. @[]@
..You know what, who care if the bad guys always have inconsistent motives. Or if the plot progresses haphazardly and makes absolutely no sense (Announcer guy, not Running For His Life?). All we need is for the fate of the world to depend on a card battle of epic proportions, which ends with the over-the-top main chara pulling of a badass win without resorting to cheap magical powers. At the same time, exchanging of dramatic insult in the presence of hotblooded BGM.
Also, are these writers closet Rockman fans or what?!
- Arc Cradle drops to earth = Eurasia/Ragnarok incident
- Synchro(?) robots wages terrible war on humans with few survivors = Elf Wars
- Human extinction in the far future, robots only = DASH/Legends!!
- Disjointed plot that everyone loves = the whole seriesww
Quickly Capcom, steal the 5D's plot point for the next Classic/X game! Send an anti-hero from between ZX and DASH/Legends time back to the past to erase Dr.Light/Wily/reploid race so that mass human extinction in the future can be averted, or something. /GO!
These guys, their backstories are totally the opposite of logic (synchro god cards existed before the whole synchro genre was invented. Of course!) But then again, who really cares? ¯▽¯
