So this weekend, S was busy with a family shindig Saturday. I made plans to go to a Tiger's game with Andy, and then afterward maybe see Clerks II with him. This gave S even more free time, and I encouraged him to go golfing with it. So he did. Sadly, I did not see Clerks II and sadly, the Tigers lost. Every couple goes through this period where you try to understand each other and their needs. It's important to keep your friendships and not let one's social life depend on one relationship.

So no, it has nothing to do with choosing friends over you or anything like that. He just needed some time to golf with some friends, that's it!

Yeah, I know. Believe me, the last thing I want to do is be the needy, clinging one who MUST have the other's attention. But sometimes I think that's exactly what I've become. This is not helped by the fact that we have different schedules and live 30 min. apart. He goes to work M thru F from 10 to 6:30 or so, eats dinner, and either plays on his pool league or goes to the gym, unless I'm coming over (Friday). The weekends are the only time he has for golfing, and he's told me that the ideal weekend would be to golf on both days. I've mentioned the idea of coming with him to watch, but we both thought that might be a bad idea. It's guy time ( ... )
