Another week

This week pretty much all the school districts in SE Michigan are on midwinter break, so no subbing action for me this week (aka, no baby-sitting). Oh well. I'm not super upset about that. Probably because I am getting more hours at the office this week, and that's always tons more interesting and fun, and I feel important there ( Read more... )

"The weekend was pretty uneventful. I worked Saturday. S and I watched Pan's Labyrinth on Saturday night, because I got the screener from work for free Friday. It's all Spanish subtitled, as I had been warned by Dan, but it's also very good. The rest of Saturday I spent working. Sunday S and I went to the Detroit Science Center, and saw the Human Body exhibit. REAL human bodies on display! Maybe slightly morbid, but fascinating all the same. I thought it was pretty cool! (But I would, wouldn't I?)

Cool! The Human Body is on exhibit at the Detroit Science Center until May 28 this year. After that, who knows? It will probably travel somewhere else. My friend Dan says it's not the same as the exhibit he saw at the Toronto Art Museum, but it's similar. Different guy did Toronto, which was apparently a LOT more morbid. Damn! So, as far as going to see it, I guess if you're back up visiting Ohio? anytime soon, maybe you could stop in DSC and see it. Or you can look up the exhibit, and see if it says where it's going to after DSC.

Pan's Labyrinth is actually out in theaters now I think, but maybe only big ones or artsy fartsy theaters. Very neat movie about a little girl who wants to escape into a fairytale world.
