Last fall, my father was diagnosed with colo-rectal cancer.  The scans did not show any sign of the tumor having metastasized, but at that point it was too large to be operable.  He went on chemo and radiation for a couple of months to reduce the size of the tumor, and this would appear to have been successful, as he's going in for the operation to
