ALSO DOCTOR STRANGE.
He's the only thing from Marvel I remember. Because he's awesome. Man, someday, someday these two will be in a game together and sit and have tea and discuss magical theory and practice and it will be amazing. o/

\o!

That would be a fantastic discussion.

I am shamed to admit that I'm the same. Zatanna is pretty much the only thing I read from DC. There's just something about snarky magicians that transcends the great divide.

And if there are no games, there are museboxes.

Man, thank you. I have begun to feel like I'm the only person in the universe who just nerdily follows only magic-users. If you ever want to be enabled (HI PERSON I DON'T KNOW, 'SUP!), I sort of keep the past ten years of DCU magicfolks on megaupload at all times. Though I haven't uploaded the Helmet of Fate TPB yet. :/

I also play at sixwordstories regularly! Though mostly via AIM/journal link, because I can't be bothered to sift through the 1000000000000 Supernatural and Buffy and whatever posts. N-not that there's anything wrong with them. ._.

NEW FRIENDS ARE GOOD FRIENDS. I'd love to leech some DCU magicfolks from you. C8 I think it's sometimes easier to follow the magicfolk because the 'main' writers for the 'verses avoid them like the plague unless they have a personal love of one particular character (or they need a fast, easy deus ex machina that a gadget can't solve, obviously) so you're generally free to wander off the beaten path.

And don't worry, the dislike of sifting is understandable. :') dear_mun gets the same way with me; we sometimes shamelessly use it as a launching pad for random threading. I keep meaning to check sixwordstories out, but haven't quite gotten around to it. Derp.

Sob, you understand my plight. Willingham did a great run with Shadowpact, but DC and Marvel both do a terrible job with marketing the magicfolk. I understand that they can be hard to write because of their abilities, but if Superman can still be written and have people reading his stories? There's still hope for the magic people.

Pretty much the same, but at least dear_mun has proper tags I can stalk. "[canon] dc comics," or an RP I'm in or something. WELP. Looks like people have enabled me, anyway, so there's a chance I will be seein' you 'round at theposthumans now, as well. Oh, people.

Not to mention the fact that the magicfolk have really interesting powers and villains. I understand that Strange can seem hard to write because of his VAST COSMIC POWERS, which is why they nerf him a lot, but... Take our Posthumans AU, where the world has been destroyed and he travels around in a fragment of the Sanctum with two apprentices and Wong, looking for the key to restore Earth. It's like magical Doctor Who! What's not to like.

Did you read the four-issue Strange mini they recently published? It's what I use to enable other people into the magic side of Marvel now. :'D So good.

/breathes, reads the rest of your comment

... fffffff. THAT IS EXCELLENT NEWS. Strange, Wiccan and Nico Minoru are trying to restore the game world's Sanctum Sanctorum so they can use it as a base. YOU CAN COME TOO. They can have a secret magical society.

There is absolutely nothing not to like, imho. I think the problem is that they tend to forget magic villains and stick 'em up against the normal villains. For example, I personally feel that Zatanna's series should've had her at odds with Tannarak and/or Allura (Allura's always an excellent fallback!), plus she's still got a score to settle with Lobo (SARGONNNNNNN), but I feel Willingham and Sturges have done excellent work with the magic-users.

I have not! I keep hearing that even if I don't follow Marvel (which I would, if my brain didn't break at the prospect of following more titles/characters), that if I like Strange that it's definitely something I need to read.

/HYPERVENTILATES

You can totally recruit Zee. They can have proper gatherings every weekend and maybe a cocktail or two. ...well, Strange and Zee can.
