I was going to put up a notice for the next meme, unfortunately, the LJ-notification problem, coupled with mod's real-life business kind of prevented that. But since we're so much later than usual, I'm just going to put the post up. I'm sorry I haven't been around to respond to you guys. We should be back on track now!

And apologize for never going through with threads :| My characters and I both seem too spazzy to stick with anything for long.

Also, I blame you, at least partially, for two things:

a) slow addiction to the Master. I now play human!Master, S3!Master, S!4.5/Specials/whatever!Master, Ashlar (he's part-Master, he counts), Watch!Ten (who has the Master in his subconscious), and have recently discovered a post-S5!regenerated!Master who seems to think he's a Venetian-esque cat burglar. And then there's the 'verse where disembodied!S5!Master takes over W!Ten's nicely Master-primed body . . .

So. The Specials finale was right. The Master is a virus. He infects EVERYTHANG.

and b) T'eyla.

Yes. I blame you. We had to have a Ten-waving in-bed-meme contest because we were competing over laser_not_sonic, dammit. There is nothing like Time Lord jealousy to start a relationship.

I am always up for backtagging, though, so if you're ever struck by the desire, I should love to pick up any threads that you've dropped along the way. I know you were having troubles coaxing Jo out, but goddamnit, I want to play that girl off a Master who's halfway decent. And yours is, of course, far more than that.

He . . . happened. In chatplay. If I can find him a PB, he may happen elsewhere. The Doctor tried to fix his SSpecials!decaying body, and managed, but the whole thing was traumatic enough the Master regenerated. Into a relatively balanced arrogant twenty-something-year-old who likes to steal anything not nailed down. Ponytail, all black Romantic look. I know exactly what he looks like, but cannot find an actor.

I'm still me, just too lazy to log into my own account. Bush does not approve of any of this nonsense, so just ignore him.

BUT.

I know what you're saying, what with the distance thing, and I think that tends to happen when you go from playing Doctor/Master to playing... anything else, really. Because with the Doctor and the Master, things are always going to be messy and intense and intimate in one way or another, and you get used to that. Whereas with other characters, I think there's going to be that distance out of necessity; it would have felt odd for me to go straight into Big and Intense with Jo to the Master, because they don't have that kind of relationship. But believe me, I do want confrontation (though Jo certainly doesn't); there's nothing I like threading more. Makes things exciting, the action and dynamic and clash of it; some of my favourite threads I've done tend to be fights, physical or otherwise

This is possible-but it's not something I've run into while playing, say, Ashlar in casual threads, and he's, for all intents and purposes, an original character. He has Issues that show up more around DW muses, but he's really a paper-thin excuse for me to play with power dynamics. Not that I've played Ashlar off of your muses, often-I'm meaning it more as an example that I have played non-D/M recently and found hooks in those threads.

It could be that when I specifically play the Master, I expect D/M dynamics. And probably is, partially. I get used to the shorthand and history of the characters. Companions are harder to get a handle on, because they don't share an automatic history

Meh. Which is not constructive criticism, because it . . . isn't criticism. Precisely. It's a Feeling. Feelings do not effective criticism make, nor are they related.

I'd love to see more Delgado!Master though. He doesn't get out enough :(
