I think holidays are making me awfully lazy.
I just sleep, eat, write, and read. I almost have to force myself to check my mail and LJ. The lack of a printer heavily adds to the general will do it later feeling. Some new CotBP stories by my fav authors have recently been posted, but I'm keeping them in store for the moment I'll be able to read them on paper. I've the bad habit of quickly jumping across paragraphs when I read directly from the PC screen and to me it's like hurriedly gulping down my tea standing instead of savouring it sitting in my most comfortable armchair.
My dear authors, take it as a mark of my love and respect for your writing. ;)
On the front of my Conversation fic, the second WIP chapter greatly benefited from my finally being able to revise it. Notwithstanding all my attempts to teach it better, my written stuff seems obdurate in this annoying habit of being unable to care for itself. Inserting Admiral Rodney in the story and making him shape my Norrington's personality has been a great fun. I only hope the readers will not be bored to death by the details of James' early years and by the cameos of Admiral Byng, Lord Anson, and Commodore Keppel.
I've finally come to revising the point where my Lt Norrington gets his commission for the Dauntless and I feel both proud and anxious. This second chapter is actually more than seventy pages long and would easily provide stuff for two parts. Maybe, as I am halfway the 70-page monster, I should just find a reasonable cliffhanger and give the final polish to the first part.
