Going on what your saying, the ACLU is doing it's job. Boy Scouts and other little "survivalist" programs like that make kids swear to God and enforce De Fecto homophobia are acting in ways that are unconstitionial, and should therefore recieve NO benefits from any institution that is established to uphold, maintain, or otherwise protect our constitution. Although it is true that more pressing issues have existed in the past, now that those issues have been adressed, the ACLU is simply moving on to other issues, that, while less urgent, are no less subjects that deserve attention. So there.

It's not about "stopping kids from camping on a military base". It's about the values that such organizations uphold. Obviously, one of those values is descrimination, and that is something that is a value that should go without government support. It's the principal, not the actual acts of the scouts. By denying these organizations that hold these values government benefits (even something as miniscule as a denied camping trip), a message is sent that descrimination of any kind goes unsupported, and that churchly/godly affiliations (which frankly, gets more than enough breaks by the government as is) do not entitle any organization to special benefits, that those, with less popular views would go without.
