I love this look at your Butterbur and, really, I hadn't ever thought of this before! Am rather glad it ended as well as it did, too. ♥

What a fantastically written POV! I love it inside Butterbur's head - and what a good decent man he turned out to be.

Yes, the Ring can play up every single being's desire for the lovely Frodo, can't it?

Thank you so much, love! No one can withstand the Frodolove, can they? Certainly not me when it comes to writing him *sigh*

Sorry for the delay in replying, Mews! Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to fb. Butterbur *is* a decent man and more to the point, he's a publican, and they're a breed all to themselves :)

And here I was, worrying that Strider would suddenly vanish, only to find himself on an island surrounded by ravenous rats...

Thank goodness Barliman has too much sense! Like Sam, he knows his own limits and his own heart, and is far too practical to be taken in by the Ring's OTT blandishments!

And here I was, worrying that Strider would suddenly vanish, only to find himself on an island surrounded by ravenous rats... - sounds like an episode of Lost ;)
