A Pre-birthday Shop

Feb 25, 2013 01:02

Yes, another shopping trip! Which I'll try to avoid recounting in the tiniest detail, but it had a few highlights - got dad's cab to drop me by John Lewis on the other side of Liverpool One from where I normally go, its the first time I've done that place alone, and I'm beginning to think I don't dislike it quite as much as I thought I did. I have to admit that I don't use Starbucks because I find their insistance on over roasting cheap, nasty coffee to give it a flavour abhorrent.

If I can't find an independent, I tend to go for Nero or Costa. Our local independent is Portugese run and uses that country's Camelo coffee, which is more than reasonable.

I find the other shops' coffees too strong a blend, Costa especially, so I'm sure its better quality, but given I want the taste of chocolate & whipped cream more than actual coffee, starbucks suits me fine :) iiinot sure how many independents we have in Liverpool, there's one in the business district round Dale Street but that's not very useful when shopping. Yay for quality independents tho

And once again, happy birthday! Sounds like lots of fun has been had and am delighting in reading about these expeditions!

If you're passing by Jamie's sometime, it might be worth popping in and discussing the whole chilli issue sometime, and what's safe. We've only been to the one in Cardiff, but they were unbelieveably helpful when we were there (review here:https://www.facebook.com/notes/elise-dennison/lunch-today/433714864935)

Ooh, while I remember, Cardiff has a fantastic sex shop that knocks spots off Ann Summers! It's called Passion, and here...have a link!

It's also reminded me of the time my electric toothbrush went off in my overnight bag at a bus stop, and the friends with me eyed the buzzing bag with great amusement!

Hee, glad to entertain :) good to hear Jamies are helpful, I'll try again sometime, really wasn't that hungry so it wasn't worth it that day..

Its easy to knock spots off Ann Summers, thanks for the link, I usually go to Bondara online but fun checking out alternatives, um, not that I'm prone to buying toys, dear me no *g* and yeah, of *course* it was a toothbrush, I believe you *waggles eyebrows*

Happy Birthday m'dear!

No woman should have to explain about the buzzy things in a pink bag to their mother. :) Ever. :)

I enjoy reading about your expeditions, so please keep writing about them!

*squish* thankyou :)

Heh, and no, tho I did actually order one for her a bit ago (to help her work out where the pelvic floor muscles were, turned out to be handy as she'd not being exercising the right ones.. Conversation best held without eye contact, as was the ensuing "here's your toy, mum" when the postman had been *giggle*)
