Fun with Coding

Yay, coding!
Pretty colours not essential. The first game I wrote had green things moving on a black screen, and that was it. OK, so that was on a Commodore Pet, about 35 years ago, but still - coding, and gaming. Fun.

It was amusing reading through people's introductions and seeing how many had got into computers/coding from Spectrums, the BBC Micro and other early computers. I know I loved playing around with coding up my own little games in BASIC. And if you've used that too, then hopefully the conditional statements on this week's course will be reasonably familiar for both of us :)

Have you read about Raspberry Pi? Seems to want to give modern kids the same sort of experience we had with the old BBC Micro etc, which is good, much more interesting for them than just poking Facebook all day long (generalises to dismiss an entire generation of kids with many other pastimes and skills than being FB addicts...*giggle*)
