The Common Rotation show was awesome, as expected. Those boys are too cute.
This time we (
aliste,
rosamundeb and I) made reservations at the venue, Uncommon Ground, which was good because it ensured we got a table. We also got a table in front of the stage this time, instead of squeezed off to the side behind the band
like last time. We were in the back, which was fine except that there were a few heads in between us and the band, and we definitely couldn't grab a setlist.
The opener was pretty good, and since there was only one the time passed fairly quickly. Eric was wearing probably the most godawful ugly shirt I've ever seen in my life. It was a pink cowboy-style shirt, with stripes and flowers. FLOWERS. We noticed that Adam didn't get the cowboy-shirt memo, but he had his trusty velvet jacket. We also noticed he brought in not only the glockenspiel but also a very small accordian, which turned out to be used for Clear Channel.
They played well, and were very cute in the breaks between songs. They introduced Let Me Die with My Trumpet In My Hand as a song about masturbation, which in case you're wondering means "chewing," or at least it does when Adam is talking about it in front of a small child. Heh.
Their unplugged song at the end was a Billy Bragg song, which pleased
aliste (and me, cause it was a good song. :) And apparently they're playing in Louisville tomorrow night. Who knew?
