look at the pipe dreams

So back in November as we were waiting in a line of scantily clad pre-pubescent teens at the Ok Go show, aliste and I decided we weren't going to other Ok Go shows unless they were at least 18+. Thus, when the Ok Go and Snow Patrol show at the Aragon was announced, I had no plans to go see it. But lo and behold yesterday cptmoll emails me and tells me that some ( Read more... )

So I finally get a chance to check out your show review, wondering if Snow Patrol ended up being some AWESOME BAND that I managed to miss, and whether or not I missed THE SHOW OF THE CENTURY, and what do I read?

"Snow Patrol was pretty good too, though cptmoll was way more into them than I."

*ggl*

So who needs to headline at a smaller place: OKGO, or Snow Patrol? Because, the show sold out, which would suggest that Snow Patrol will go bigger the next time around.

I'm curiously schizophrenic about Snow Patrol, which is why I didn't go. I'll hear a song of theirs on the radio and go "wow... who is THAT? I like them!", but then I'll listen to their CD and ...*yawn*... So, tell me a little more about what you thought of them in concert, if you don't mind.

Haha, well I knew going in that Snow Patrol wasn't really my kind of band. I was going for Ok Go, and I stayed pretty much only because cptmoll was into them. I had seen Snow Patrol a couple of years ago, actually at the Aragon opening for Franz Ferdinand and the Hives, and didn't really feel anything then, and none of their studio songs really catch me. It's not to say that they're bad, they're not at all, they're just not for me. They're live show was pretty good, and I'm sure if you were a fan it would be excellent (cptmoll definitely enjoyed it), as they talked to the audience a fair amount and such, but it's kind of hard to fairly evaluate the live show of a band you don't really like. Which is why I was so non-committal in the first place.

Oh, and sorry about the ambiguous sentance, it should be Ok Go headlining, since they were just opening here. The small venue was just an add on descriptor, since obviously they're not quite that big yet, though they are working on it.

I agree; I'd love to see them headline!
