And okay, there are many, many people in the world who have it worse off than me, but I'm not looking forward to leaving for college on Thursday

Aw, hon! *sends you many, many hugs* I know this is a stressful time with so many changes and such. I know how weepy I was when high school was over and I wasn't making as many changes right now as you are. But once you're all settled in, you're going to totally rock it, I have no doubt! It won't be exactly the same, of course, but it'll still be awesome in a brand new way! :D
Now, it's time to bring out the Big Guns of Huggernating...
Thanks, Aislynn! *hugs back* The Big Guns of Huggernation definitely made me smile. =) I am feeling better about it all today....I got a bunch of stuff for my dorm, which makes me feel a bit less stressed.
College is scary. Leaving everything you know and going to a strange new place with a bunch of new people, learning to live with them & such? It's really, really scary. But trust me, when you get into the routine of school and you start meeting & befriending people, it gets a lot easier. Right now, it's the unknown and that's always terrifying. But when you get there, you'll get adjusted and it won't seem so scary any more.
And you know, if you get there & you end up having bitchy evil roommates like I had, just request a move. But don't just endure it for the whole year like I did. That was a mistake....
Anyways *huge hugs!!* You'll get through it and I know you'll love college!! (Maybe not the dining hall food though. That was always nasty...)
*hugs* Thanks for the hugs and support, Abby! I am feeling better about it today, I was definitely just having a sad night about it last night. =( But I'm a bit more optimistic today.
Gah, I have all this to look forward to next year :S:S
I'm sorry you're feeling so upset about this! I can understand what you feel like. I can't imagine what it will be like to live away from my sister.......and my mum! O_O lol But I'm sure you will be fine! Once you've settled in you'll feel even better. I'm sure it'll get easier!
I understand what you're going through hon...when I left for college I was SO homesick. It was really hard for me. But I made some absolutely incredible friends on day 1, and they kept me going even when I got really sad. And then I cried after 4 years when I left, because my college had become such a second home to me.
I hope it helps to hear that you will be ok. I can guarantee it. And as someone who has been there, and really understands, I'm here anytime you need to talk about it (or anytime you want to come visit :) )
Thanks a bunch for the support and kind words, Becca! *huggles* I'm feeling lots better about it today - we got my computer and some other dorm stuff, which makes it a little more exciting, hehe. I'm sure I'll love it when I get there - that school is ALREADY almost another home because that's where Lab (the Lutheran camp I was at) was held...but it'll be really different being there for school.
Your comment here made me smile. =) And hehe, whenever I make it up to Chicago to visit Elyse (I will probably go up the weekend she moves in, for one thing) I will be sure to let you know so we can visit!! *more huggles* =D
