He's definitely not as bad as most of his detractors say he is. But he's still a far, far worse alternative than just about anyone else (save Dick Cheney of course) that we could put in his place.

I don't think John Mccain could ever win the repubican primaries, but who knows, he could be our later-day TR. We desperately need one.

i think maybe the stop aids thing has beeen misinterpreted due to the protestor's poor choice of action. i think perhaps one reason for the "stop aids" part is b/c he has chosen that in school's, children should be taught abstinence, not safe sex as the form of AIDS education. which is very foolhearty. so maybe they were just throwing out two different issues in a poorly fashioned manner

I have to agree with jendurrfukt about the AIDS thing. Bush's agenda for AIDS has been to spend a whole ton of money for programs that clearly don't work. Stopping the spread of HIV by throwing money at it isn't going to work, that's true, but on the other hand wasting perfectly good money on programs that clearly don't work isn't much better. It gives us the illusion of having done something, and we haven't.
