If anyone I am friends with could switch bodies with me for a while they would get to experience to the fullest extent, the power of religion on the human psyche. See, for me, it was easy: I got a weekend job. That way, my mom could no longer bitch about me missing church.

Well, she could bitch, but I always had "But I was at work!" to fall back on.

I feel your frustration..my father does the same exact thing. And to make it worse, he's a deacon. So conversations usually begin with absolutely nothing to do with religion, and somehow he manages to throw something in there about church and my soul. All I do nowadays is just point out how some of the most "saved" and sanctimonious people I know are also the most evil and hypocritical. You have to use evil...makes it more dramatic. That shuts him up for a few hours at least...
