there's a point in time where everyone realizes fighting gets tiring. and i think perhaps it was an attempt at a truce. an apology of sorts. trying to get everything back in order. plus, they knew you'd wanna be with the brother on the birthday, and they didn't wanna be prickish...

some things are not forgiveable...there is no fighting going on here, simply stating that he did not want to attend and prefers not to be a part of such a gathering of individuals. everything is back in order. no worries here. of course, jacob can tell you this himself in his own wording since i am sure you have no interest in my talking. *smiles happily*
I certainly do not wish to start up fighting again. It is tiring. I'm sick to death of fighting, and I'm sure that goes for everyone. The issues are long and drawn out, and even old. But that doesn't mean I wish to forget.
This is a matter of pride. Pride in my house (not the physical one, mind you), pride in my family, and pride in my wife and daughter.
There are words between myself and persons, words that are not readily forgiveable, and in some cases won't ever be. And it probably isn't one-sided either. I don't know what prompted a chage in heart from the other side, but as far as I'm concerned nothing has changed since the last bitter argument, except that we have agreed to mind our respective businesses.
If an apology is meant, then let it be an apology. Not an invite to a karaoke bar that had to got through my brother to get to me.
