Well it would be hard to get into the mood if no previous preperations were made and such.

I don't think kids are a factor. I had a blast this year. ;)

I tried decorating, I did a little on the mantle, but all I could think of was the mess it made for no real purpose.

Kind of hard to really get in the mood when Christmas gifts are practical things like a new toaster oven. :-P

And school ended Dec 19th, so I didn't really get to do much for holiday parties and such.

Just a mantle? Thats not decorating, thats just putting nicknaks on a shelf!

Well if it makes you feel any better I got a bunch of practical stuff, dishware, appliences and the such. I'm still excited for them ;)

Yeah, late ends for school with exams put a damper on holiday festivities,.

Try to have some fun for new years at least

We always have fun at New Years.

Funny thing is, I think part of Christmas to me always involved going to Church. Not because I believe in any religion, but because going to a service always reminded me of how much I have to be grateful for. So I think Next year I'll either do some volunteer work around the holiday or sneak into a Christmas service somewhere.
