I wonder if Jamie Bamber (if he's still in London) went down to the river to watch the Boat Race this afternoon (mind I guess that could partly depend on how he fancied celebrating his birthday, which I hope he's enjoyed!)...
If he did he'd have been a happy man as Cambridge overcame their underdog status and reversed the result of the last two years to take a win - a good day all round for the Light Blues as the reserve crew Goldee did the same thing against Isis just before.
I'll admit I thought they'd blown it part way through, but they came good and held on for an excellent win after an excellent race from both boats.
Chapeau to both teams for what they put themselves through (and give up) in order to take part in this race (with plenty of them coming back more than once to have a go), especially this year with the winter having quite an impact on their training.
