They'd nicked his wallet.

They'd nicked his wallet.

Ianto was not pleased. He was very, very not pleased. He'd seen them coming, the little band of kids. The oldest couldn't have been over sixteen, and what's worse, they looked a lot like the sort of group he'd have been mixed up with at that age. Of course the day could get worse! It could always get worse.

Unless it got better.

And with that, the Doctor turned the corner from the other side, bumping quite soundly into Ianto. "Oh, hello."

It wasn't that he skulked around Cardiff looking to bump into people. Particularly sharply dressed - hey, this man looked familiar. "We've met!"

First things first, Ianto checked for his wallet.

Oh. Oh, it figured.

Ianto rubbed at his forehead.

"Hello Doctor," he said, a bit muffled.

The Doctor's eyes followed Ianto's hands. "Have you lost your wallet?"

Well, no time for that. "No time for that! Things to do, Ianto Jones. Ianto Ianto yannnnto." The Doctor smiled and canted his head to the side. "Feel like saving the planet?"

"No," Ianto answered that first question sharply but a little slowly. Apparently he still hadn't quite got past the sting of being pick-pocketed.

He slid his hands into his pockets and looked the Doctor over.

Saving the planet?

"Do it often enough," he said, trying his best to to appear unfazed. And then he lifted his chin, all business, or some approximation. "What now?"
