Evan offered a shrug, shaking his bangs out of his eyes. It wasn't a secret that he was very loose in his choice of company, but just because he spoke with someone, it didn't mean that he held them in a high regard. "Narcissa, I bear no great interest in Miss Evans. I speak to her because she is a fellow prefect and classmate, and because it never hurts to maintain diplomatic ties to people." He smiled at her and decided not to mention that he found Lily attractive, since that observation wouldn't help his explanation. "I'm sorry that it seemed otherwise."

Narcissa frowned slightly in exasperation, "Yes, I suppose I can understand when it comes to diplomacy. But really, Evan, at their table-- was that nescessary?" She sighed a little and responded with a sneer, "Personally, I would have picked another girl over her if I wished to practice diplomacy. . . Don't even get me started on her." Narcissa looked to Evan, not entirely concealing the look on her face that plainly wished for him to "get her started" on Lily Evans.
