Summary: Momo and Eiji await the dismissal of their Transfiguration class so they can grab a bite to eat and catch up with each other and best of all, Quidditch.

It was mid afternoon and yet another... mediocre session of Transfiguration class. Momoshiro caught himself as his head began to sink down to rest upon his hand. He reminded himself of the last time he had appeared bored in this professor's class. She had, without warning, used him as the example for that day's experiment. The Slytherins couldn't stop laughing and Momo had just about gotten himself into another fight if it wasn't for some fellow Gryffindors present in the classroom, to hold him back. Straightening himself up, Momo rolled his eyes to the side and caught sight of Eiji, sitting at the long table next to him. He looked just as attentive as Momo was, which wasn't saying much about the excitement factor of today's lesson. Surely Eiji would have been enthusiastic if the lesson had to do with a feline species. Simply bored out of his mind, Momo decided to try and catch Eiji's attention while the professor turned away.

"pssst.... Eiji."

"Zoned out" was one way to describe Kikumaru Eiji, currently. He was hunched over the table, chin resting in his hands - eyes glazed over with what one could only guess was boredom. This class was supposed to be exciting, he thought, so... where was the excitement? So far it'd been a lot of lecture and a lot of bookwork accompanied by a severe lack of the excitement he longed for, save for the incident involving Momoshiro just a few days before. Though Eiji preferred that he and his housemates stayed out of trouble, a snickering Slytherin was usually the last straw. His ears perked slightly as he heard the whisper of the person next to him. Blinking, Eiji side-glanced to Momoshiro, putting his peripheral vision to work - also making sure the professor wouldn't catch them.

"Nya?"

Still keeping his voice fairly low, Momo spoke again to Eiji.

"still up for lunch after this class right?"

Just a row down, an eavesdropping Slytherin, probably one who had joined in on the laughter during yesterday's incident, turned his head around slightly in Momo's direction with a "I'm gonna tell....." expression on his face. In response, the spiked hair gryffindor narrowed his eyes at the shrimp-sized tattletale and then returned his attention back to Eiji without waiting for a retaliation.

Eiji, brow furrowed, had narrowed his eyes as well. Scoffing at the Slytherin quietly, he rolls his eyes as well and focuses back on Momoshiro. What an annoying distraction... though that could be said about Slytherin on the whole, now couldn't it? Eiji nodded, appearing energetic about it as he whispered his reply.

"Yeah..!" He nodded his head to the clock, twisting his face slightly in anticipation. "If this class ever ends, anyway.. Mou.."

"Anticipating the end of my class, much. Kikumaru!"

Momo froze as the professor spoke Eiji's name. Had she been watching them the whole time...? The rumors saying she had a third eye sounded nothing more than rubbish to Momo, but he wasn't quite sure anymore if he should shun away the very possibility, so easily. Regaining movement of his own body, Momo slowly turned to meet the professor's disapproved face.

"Think you're so sly, hm Momoshiro?"

Eiji felt a chill run down his spine as he heard the sharp words of his professor. He practically jumped in his seat, sitting straight up with his eyes wide open. Looking slightly blue under the eyes, he stammered.

"Uuwah..! S-sorry m-ma'am...! I.. I..."

But he didn't have an explanation for himself. He'd been caught fair and square. His paranoid eyes only left the professor to rapidly glance over at Momoshiro every other few seconds or so.

"Hmmmm....! I suppose the other day's experiment didn't teach you anything....!"

She glanced at Momo, then at Eiji, as they both sat still in their seats.

"Perhaps detention is a better course of discipline!"

The same Slytherin that the two had glared at earlier, had the biggest grin on his face now that the two had gotten in trouble. Guess he didn't have to open up his big fat mouth after all. So caught up in the amusement of watching Gryffindor suffer, he let out a snicker that he hadn't planned to have escape his mouth. It quickly caught the attention of the professor. Perhaps the rumors of her astonishing dog-like hearing were in fact, true as well...

"I suppose YOU'D like detention too, HM?"

Now Momo was amused, but he didn't make the same mistake of letting it be known, and simply kept it to himself to express later on after class.

"Well. Then it's settled. You three. Detention in my office, tomorrow night. I hope you enjoy cleaning out owl cages."

"Guuuh..."

Eiji face faulted, mouth hanging open slightly. What a drag - but at least that Slytherin didn't go unpunished. He hung his head, feeling the intensity of all the pairs of eyes watching him and wishing to avoid it best he could. He cringed at the thought of being stuck in dentention. If they thought they were bored now ... But geez, that professor. She was something else. Eiji practically whined.

"Yes, ma'am..."

Just after the professor had stuck down authority upon the three students, the clock stuck the hour and class was dismissed. Momo gathered his things, sliding them off the table and into his shoulder bag, then proceeded to rise from the bench. Rubbing the back of his head, he expressed his apologies to Eiji.

"Ahaha... Sorry about that Eiji~ I should have known better than try to talk during this class."

Eiji looked fairly relieved as the class had just ended. He quickly picked up his things as well, gathering his books into his arms. The shock from being caught off guard by the professor was wearing off and his heart rate as begun to steadily decline, rather than jump out of his throat - which he was almost certain would happen a couple of minutes ago. He laughed a little too, exasperated, but wanting to shrug off the jittery feelings as best as possible.

"Myah.. I'll save blaming you for tomorrow night, okay?"

He winked to show that he was only playing... mostly. He folded his arms, bringing the books to his chest and he sighed, trying to shuffle out of the classroom as quickly as he could. He just wanted to forget about this for now and eat. Quidditch practice would come around eventually and then everything would be fine.

The two exited the classroom and started to make their way over to the dining hall. Still feeling bad about being responsible for dragging Eiji into detention with him, Momo thought up a way to make it up to Eiji.

"I know~" Reaching an arm around Eiji, he leaned in to speak. "I'll buy you a bag of the candy you couldn't get enough of last year at Hogsmeade!"

A smile sprung upon Momo's face as he was sure Eiji would approve of the offer.

The tone of Momo's voice and the arm that made its way around him let Eiji know that his housemate was up to something. Upon hearing the apologetic offer, his mouth curled into a grin and he flashed a V-sign of approval.

"Ehee~! Apology accepted, my friend! You know just how to get me..!"

It was true that Eiji was a sucker for sweets, and it definitely wasn't a secret. He was back to being in a good mood just at the thought of it, which was a relief in itself. Being aggitated with one's classmate, housemate and teammate was no picnic and he really wanted to avoid it as best he could - he was fairly aware of the silly grudges he tended to hold. Besides, as long as they both made sure that pesky Slytherin had a much worse time than they did tomorrow, then it couldn't be the worst thing ever. Eiji pushed open the door to the dining hall with his free hand as they proceeded to walk inside.

Momo was glad to have Eiji as a good friend. Friends keep your spirit up, which leads to confidence to succeed as a Gryffindor, and more importantly, as a wizard. The two entered the dining hall, and made their usual round to fill their trays. Momo peered down their house table for a vacant spot to settle down. Upon locating a section, he gave the heads up to Eiji, who proceeded to follow him down the aisle. Just about ready to dig in, Momo placed his tray that was stacked with a quantity of food to feed 3 students upon the table top and took a seat on the long bench.

Taking a seat across from him, Eiji grinned at the sight of Momoshiro's heavily stocked tray. That was Momo, alright - the legendary bottomless pit of sorts. While it was true that Eiji himself could put it away, he could never compare to Momo and had gotten sick a number of times in his attempts to do so. He laughed a little as the obligatory wide-eyed stares came and went. The first years always seemed to be in awe of how talented Momoshiro was when it came to... stuffing his face. Opening a carton of milk, Eiji commented.

"Myah, I've been looking forward to this since... breakfast." He snickered a bit. "Classes are dragging too much lately.. moouu~ it's not exciting enough! And the gaps between breakfast, lunch and Quidditch seem years apart.." He took a drink and sighed with a sense of satisfaction and content. "Oh well.. things had better speed up soon..!"

Momo shined another cheek to cheek smile at Eiji before letting his hands run loose across his tray. With his left, he took hold of the nearest sandwich and brought it to his eagerly awaiting mouth. And with his right, he proceeded to pry open the carton of orange juice that would aid him in washing down the food now occupying his mouth. It was almost like a show to all the new students to watch Momo devour everything on his tray. He consumed it so rapidly, yet efficiently, that everyone was always amazed that not a single crumb would litter the area surrounding him.

Eiji laughed a bit as he watched Momoshiro for a moment before digging into his own sandwich. It was useless to try and talk to him now, Eiji should have known better. Momoshiro was "in the zone", so to speak. He glanced to the younger students momentarily, amused at their sense of awe in Momo. Taking another drink of milk, he smirked.

"Maaa~ figures a human vacuum like you would garner such instant fame with the lunch crowd. They've got stars in their eyes - I think you're their new hero!"

Eiji continued to tease and munch on his meal, thoroughly amused.

Momo looked up from his sandwich in his hand as Eiji spoke once again. He proceeded to open up his mouth, but quickly reminded himself of those so-called manners that his parents desperately tried to drill into his head all these years. Bringing a hand up to his mouth, he finished chewing what he had left in his mouth, swallowed, and then glanced over once again. After placing the half eaten sandwich temporary back upon his tray, Momo jolted out a finger and pointed it towards Eiji with a grin.

"Someone's got to resume the role after I get my fancy wizard hat. So~ gotta catch the eyes of those potential candidates every meal I get~"

Retracting his hand back, he reunited it with the last sandwich and soon enough, cleared his tray for the evening.

Eiji nodded, barely half-way finished with his only sandwich as Momo was cramming down his third. The amusement never stopped, which was a good reason why Eiji was so glad to have Momoshiro for a friend - there was no other house better for the two of them than Gryffindor, and having a friend who was also a housemate and teammate made the bond that much stronger.

"I see, I see! Mya, so you're scouting! Should be interesting!"

He glanced down at Momo's empty tray with an expression that said he was impressed as usual. Taking another big drink of milk, he proceeded to finish up the rest of his own sandwich.

Wiping off his hands and mouth with a napkin, Momo slid down slightly in his seat, placing a hand gently upon his stomache and waited for Eiji to finish his last bite.

"Maaan... I can't wait for quidditch tonight. First practice back from Summer break! It's been so long...~"

The anticipation for tonight's practice overwhelmed Momo with excitement, and if he hadn't been so completely full, he would have expressed it in more than just words.

Eiji took another big gulp of milk upon finishing his sandwich, and quickly ran his hand across his mouth before he spoke.

"I've been looking forward to it since as long as I can remember! We're gonna be great this year, I just know it!"

He then proceeded to finish off the milk carton, looking rather energetic now that Quidditch had been brought up.

"So, have you met the new Seeker yet?"

Momo was rather curious about the new seeker. Their last year's seeker was one of the best that Hogwarts has ever had the privilege of bestowing such a position to. Some students wondered if anyone could ever match up to the outstanding legacy.

Setting his empty milk carton on the tray before him, he grinned at Momoshiro.

"The ochibi~! His name is Echizen Ryoma. He's a cute little guy - but I think he could shape up to be really talented. We'll see for sure today!" Now, if there was one thing that Eiji had to be picky about - it was going to be Quidditch. The boy loved watching it, loved dreaming about it, and loved playing it above all. "If we're lucky, we'll have a team just as good as last year's - if not better. I trust Yuuta."

Momo shined a grin of approval.

"Good~good! I know you've got an eye for good quidditch players, Eiji! So I trust that this guy will definitely be a good asset to the team! Oh yaaaah~ I heard about Yuuta snagging the captain position~ "

The two boys could talk forever and a day about just this one topic alone. Both of them had a love for the sport that was beyond comprehension by a regular student.

"He looks a little on the quiet side, but he seems like he's got enough attitude. I think we'll all get along fine. Our team almost always does." He gave Momoshiro the thumbs-up, their grins practically matching by now. Eiji loved talking Quidditch with Momo, seeing as how their love of the game was basically one in the same. "Myah, that Yuuta. I only feel a little lame about a fourth year getting the position over me, but I guess I'm not that much of a 'leadership' type. He's a good guy - that's what matters." He laughed a bit - he was really just happy enough getting to play. "Ohh, and that sixth year! Akutsu! I'm excited to see him play..."

"Ooooh come on, Eiji. You know I'd get the position before you would---" Momo exclaimed with a grin, though quickly reassuring Eiji that he was simply joking before cheerful expression could leave his face. "--- ahah! I just kidding! Just kidding! But you're right~ Yuuta's a good guy! And we'll see Akutsu's potential soon enough~ What I'm wondering is why he just joined up for the team in his 6th year. Is he a transfer student?"

Eiji did infact laugh at this as well. Something about Momoshiro's dorky looking grin when he was joking always prompted it.

"Mou, at least you had the class to wait until I finished my milk to pull that one out on me..!" He rolled his eyes, smirking, before running a hand through his hair, nodding. "No... don't think he's a transfer - He's the guy who rips his sleeves off his robes, so I know I've seen him before. I'm excited to see him play... he's a beater, too! He's probably super powerful..."

"Oooho~ is that so~ Let's hope he's just as powerful as me!" Momo declared, pointing a thumb in his direction. "Then we'll surely be unstoppable~"

He took pride in his position on the team. And with a new beater filling in the position of his graduated mentor, it was going to take a lot of work, for the both of them, to fill in his retired dedication. As Momo finished up his sentence, his attention became directed towards the large clock floating in the illusion of a sky in the dining hall, and realized what time it was.

"Aaaah...! Look at the time~ my Dark Arts class is gonna start in about 10 minutes ~"

Eyes widening a bit, he'd completely forgotten to keep track of time himself. He turned around to face the clock, mouth hanging open a bit.

"I completely forgot..!" He groaned as he gathered up some of the scattered garbage on the table onto the tray and gathered his books. "Guuh~ I was late just a couple days ago, too.." He got to his feet and grinned oh-so nervously. "Nya~ Let's get moving, Momo! The sooner class starts, the sooner practice gets here! Unless the professor makes us stay after if we're late, anyway..!"

Getting to his feet, Momo gathered up his own mess collectively upon his tray and hurried in unison with Eiji to dispose of their garbage and head out the dining hall. Once outside of the hall, Momo faced Eiji once again.

"Well~ I've gotta go this way!" He proclaimed as he pointed behind him. "So I guess I'll see you at Quidditch practice after classes then~"

"Right..! See you, Momo~!" Eiji called out and waved as his friend ran off to his class. Nodding to himself, he then ran off in the other direction, desperately hoping he wouldn't be late to his class, either.
