Draco was lounged back on his bed, a book in his hand while a candle flitted away portions of the darkness. His eyes would occasionally shift to the clock on his table, keeping count of when dinner would begin. Subconsciously, his hand floated to the locket resting on his chest, his thumb caressing the object. Rising from his lax position, he set ( Read more... )

Ginny entered the Great Hall quietly, apparently lost in thought. There was something clouding her mind. In fact, she was so lost in thought that she didn't even bother to notice that she was the first to arrive.

Being as Draco's eyes were focused on the doorway, it was only natural for his vision to follow the one person who strode through the entrance. One eyebrow arching, he couldn't help but wonder why she appeared to be so distant. Smirking, he rose from the table, figuring he needed a good helping of 'I'm better than you are.'

He approached the Gryffindor table, not daring to lower himself to her position and sit upon the bench. Instead, he chose to glance down his nose at her, his lips still tilted in that wicked grin. "Bit lost in your thoughts, Weasley? I can understand why . . . You don't go rummaging through them all too often." Fingers coursed through blond locks before he shifted, glancing to the door as if he were awaiting one certain arrival. Shoulders lifting in a languid shrug, he turned back to the small red-head, his smirk twisting into a rather unpleasant sneer. "And the cat your mother happened to come across. Disgusting creature. Though, I suppose she raised you and the rest of the pack. A cat is probably much easier to ( ... )

((Ooc: mea culpa. mea maxima culpa-- sorry gone so long-- rl wacktacular )) Ic:

Harry left the common room slightly warmer than he had been going into it. Sacrificing his relationship with Ginny for her safety would be much easier if she... let it be sacrificed. But, due to a warm nature and a deep friendship and history between them both she continued to be a close and affectionate friend. Especially affectionate. Which often left him decidedly overheated and with sensation that his trousers were a few sizes too small. It was maddening. With these thoughts in his head and the imprint of her hand still burning his back he wandered into the Great Hall and met the two people he least wanted to see...for two very different reasons. Picking the lesser of the two evils he stepped next to Ginny.

Draco couldn't help the sneer that curled his upper lip at the appearance of the Golden Boy. Brow furrowing, he released a sound that could have very easily passed as a growl. "Potter. Pity you arrived. We were just beginning to have fun." His eyes narrowed before they shifted back to Weasley. "Always have to have your guardians around, don't you? Tell me . . . When you're sleeping around, does Potter stand in the room and watch? Does he make sure that nothing happens to you? After all, when you're shagging, you're most vulnerable." He chuckled, turning on his heel and heading back toward the Slytherin table. Pausing, he glanced over his shoulder. "A shame that a sixteen year old girl has to have constant chaperones."

When he'd turned back around, he was pleased to see that his house table was far less lonely than it was before. Smirking, he made himself comfortable between Crabbe and Goyle, watching the 'happy couple' from across the room.

"Malfoy, first-- I'm not protecting her and second, the level of vulnerability while shagging can be measured by whether or not you're handcuffed or just tied up with common ropes. Regular sex isn't quite so ... dangerous. Since not everyone indulges in your level of kinkiness, I'll ignore your assumption." Harry nodded towards Crabbe and Goyle, "So... in other words, piss off and go join your gargoyles."

Ginny, who was still deep in thought the moment Harry had stepped in, was surprised to find Malfoy standing behind her. Apparantley, she had missed something but didn't bother asking what, knowing that Malfoy only exchanged meaningless nonsense.

She looked at Harry and smiled, wanting to laugh at what she had just caught him saying. "It depends if a person is handcuffed or tied up, eh?" she asked him. "Tell me, how do you know that?"

As per usual, Daphne walked into the Great Hall with an air of arrogance as her two friends trailed behind, busy with the latest gossip. The Slytherin girl just found it to be naïve and unnecessary because there was more to life than to know who was shagging whom. It was useless trivial unlike the rise of the Dark Lord Daphne was ever so keen in knowing. She could not help herself; the girl was simply born on the dark side with no escape route.

Before Daphne got comfortable at her table, she eyed the blonde over at the Gyffindor table with disbelief. ‘Draco, out of all people…’ the girl thought and gave a look of confusion to the scene across the hall. However though, Daphne just shook everything off and had herself a cup of earl grey tea.
