Movie/Book Premiere Plans

Jul 09, 2007 10:02

So, is anyone doing anything special for either the book or movie midnight releases? Dressing up, going to one of the parties, spazzing out and flailing wildly as year long waits come to and end?

I'm personally going to the midnight deals for both, though not dressing up, regrettably. Alas. ...Anyone else happen to live in Southern California?

I'm going to a midnight party for the book. :D Even though I'm working day before/of/after. XP Who cares if I'm exhausted for work...it's Harry Potter! :O

I'm leaving early from work the next day. I wouldn't be able to stand having to work for 8 hours knowing that it was there waiting for me to read it lol

I plan on staying up all night reading it. Probably not the smartest thing to do, but self preservation! if I read it, I can't be spoiled! (In theory)

I'm doing the same thing. I even got the next day off from work so that I can rest up afterwards. xD

I am totally dressing up and going to both!! I don't know if I'll dress up for the film, since it's so late anyway, but I'm almost out of my mind with excitement!!

I'm going to the movie at midnight tomorrow, but I'm not really dressing up for it, I think my Slytherin tshirt and a Dark Mark will have to do. But for the DH premiere, I am hitting up the local Barnes & Noble party in full Slytherin House uniform until right before they pass the books out, at which point, I am fleeing in fear of spoilers. Mine will come Sat. from Amazon spoiler-free :D

My mom is going with me as Molly Weasley, and keeps having conniptions about being seen with a Dark Mark-wearing Slytherin.

My mom is awesome. Aside from the anti-Death Eater squeals XD And she's excited about it too. I only just got her into reading HP, she's only read the series twice, so she's pretty much a n00b at it all still, but she loves it as much as I do! Haha :D

I'm going to see the movie eventually. I've seen so many spoilers, I'm just eager to see certain points of the film, not the entire thing.

For the book release, the local Borders is hosting a "Midnight Ball" party, where guests are encouraged to appear in ball attire or costume. I'm using it as an excuse to wear my 2001 Prom dress again (I can fit into it now that I'm out of school! YES, I win!).

I am trying to encourage as many of my friends to attend the book release, even if they aren't fans. It's the biggest event in children's literature this century, possibly in history, and they "don't understand what the big deal is."

Sigh.
