As regards the sorting application, I think I would like to see the question about Snape (Q.15) modified a bit, given the information released in the 7th book. Perhaps something along the lines of "Was Snape justified in his actions throughout the series? Is love justification for doing anything? Why, or why not?"

Also, I'd like to see something like "Choose three top qualities about yourself that you feel are your best and explain why you chose them." and then a "Choose your three weakest qualities and explain why you feel they are your worst." This isn't to make the job easier on the sorter, but to put in a little more depth about the sortee. The other questions are great Potterverse-wise, but when you get the students who are very conflicted between two Houses, say a Ravenpuff or a Slytherclaw, knowing how the sortee views his/herself could be very beneficial.

I agree with regards to the sorting questions, though having the application incorporate DH spoilers this early is a bit premature. Maybe "Knowing everything you do about Snape's background, would you have acted any differently? If so, how? If not, why not?"

Also, given DH, I would like to tweak questions 18 and 29. 18 I would tweak to say: "Suppose you had enough Galleons to buy one of the following WWW products (list). Which would you buy, and what would you do with it?"

29 is now prone to just repetition of what was explained in the text. I also never felt as though it gave good insight into the sorting. I might change it to: "Complete the following sentence: I would most likely go seek a Prefect's advice about..."

Oh, and can I ask who drew the handmade banners? They were really interesting pieces...I'd love to know the story behind them.

Congratulations to the winner for the design, it's awesome.

Just a note on the sorting applications, when I went back to start adding them the house member archive there are ones from the beginning of the year that have not been stamped.

Have they been sorted or were they never finished and so never joined?

If they haven't been stamped then I don't think they've been sorted. I'll go through and invite them to join once they have at least 15 votes (I haven't looked to see the state of them yet) and see if they would like to still be apart of the comm. Thanks :)
