Name: Di. This is my nickname, because for some reason, people have a lotta trouble with my full name. ^^

Age: 18, 19 in a few months (scary...)

Favourite Subject at Hogwarts: Transfiguration by far. I definitely would not be the best in this class, not by a friggin’ long shot. But there’s something incredibly intriguing about changing things and people from one thing to another. Y’know, like changing, say, a fly to a caterpillar (from unpleasant to cute and ticklish). That, and if I could actually get the hang of the class, the stuff I’d learn there would be extremely valuable in tight situations.

Favourite Hogwarts teacher: I think I'd go with Flitwick(sp?) on this. He seems like this vaguely hyperactive teacher, who not only knows a lot, but is really patient with his students. I get the feeling that I could spend an entire semester trying to get one spell right and it wouldn't bother him in the least, so long as I manage to understand it in the end. He basically reminds me of the biology teacher I had in high school: really patient and yet really knowledgeable at the same time. I dunno, I think class with him would be fun if I decided to try applying myself and actually pay attention.

Which student at Hogwarts (from the books) would be your best friend?: Hmm...I think maybe the Weasely twins. To be honest, I haven't a clue (after all, you don't choose friends, they just come to you), but if we were in the same house and year, I'd bet we'd be pretty chummy pals. I love pranks and jokes, but I'm not nearly as daring as the twins are. I'd probably be the one either helping plan the latest scheme, or I'd be their conscious, holding them back when a scheme is likely to go too far. And I just like people with senses of humor in general. Sometimes people can get too serious about things, so it'd be nice to hang with guys who are more laid back and who can crack a joke to lighten up the mood. Also, it'd be fun to get to know their deepest, darkest secrets. ;)

What wizarding job would you like to have?: Hmm...I think something relating to the Department of International Relationships could work great for me. Thing is, in general, I really love reading and learning about relationships between different countries, how they’re established and how they’re maintained. That, and we’re living in a world that’s more global nowadays, and it seems silly to ignore other countries and what they have to offer and their own views on how things should be done. I’m sure that if real-life politicians learned to properly listen, we wouldn’t have half the problems we currently have. That’s just me though.

How do you spend your leisure time at Hogwarts?: Honestly? Lazing around, probably doing useless things. I'm not the most gung-ho person. In fact, in order for anything to catch my eye, it has to be something really interesting and worthwhile. I don't really want to do things that I'll regret later. That said, I'd most likely be writing something, anything, a short story or a novel; drawing something, even though I suck; planning and pulling jokes; and last, if I'm just that bored, take a walk around the castle and the grounds. Oh, and if I feel like actually doing it, any homework I might have. XD;

If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into?: I dunno...can loneliness take a physical form? ‘Cause man that’d be scary as heck. I mean, I fear being alone and loneliness above anything else in life, it’d be freaky to see a physical representation of it walking around. Or worse, creating the illusion that I’m completely alone in the world. ...Oh man, I wish I could fear something more normal, I’m starting to think of all the possibilities this could have...

What would you see in the Mirror of Erised?: I'd see myself, first off, as an accomplished actress and writer. Those are two potential careers I'd like to look into, and the two areas I consider myself most talented in, so to see myself at the top would be just plain awesome. Second off, I'd see myself with the love of my life (whoever he may be) and with a kid or two. Five or ten years down the road I'd like to have found that one person, and maybe settle down and have a family. I'm a romantic sort of person, what can I say. And finally, to cap it all off, I'd see myself truly happy. Success and love would mean nothing at all if I can neither appreciate it nor be happy about. In a way, I think that's the underlying goal in most people's lives, because we're always trying to find replacements for happiness. Well, I don't want a replacement for it. I want the real thing. So seeing that, along with everything else in the Mirror, would just be icing on the cake.

Would you have put your name in the Goblet of Fire?: Nope, not me. That kind of instant fame and glory is all good and well, but I'd rather be well-known for doing something else, something on my own. That, and the tournament would be too much trouble for me, I'm far too laid-back. Though, if someone convinced me that I could actually do an okay job, maybe I'd try it, just for kicks.

Voldemort: Evil, Genius, or just plain Misunderstood? And why? Hmm...I tend to compare Voldemort to Hitler a lot, especially after book 6, since we see quite a lot of how his mind might work. So, in this respect, I'd say that Voldemort's a genius. I mean, sure, a lot of the things he does are questionable, but there's just no denying that you really do need to have smarts to even do half the stuff he's done. So then we factor in the fact that he's used his genius to do some really bad things. But what's bad and what's good is really subjective. Those who follow Voldemort don't think he's doing anything bad, while we think he is doing a lot of bad things because of our view on what's good and bad. It's complicated, I think, and of course, the story being told from Harry's perspective, we're given the bad side of things. God, I must sound like I think killing people's not wrong. But I do believe that Voldemort's a genius who's used it wrongly. Did this make sense? I hope so.

Under what circumstances would you use an Unforgivable Curse?: If any of my friends' lives are on the line. I'm a risk-taker by nature, so my own life doesn't particularly matter for me to protect. My friends, however, especially those close to me, are what matter most. I stand up for them and take the fall when needed, and if something were happening that were to put their lives on the line or that they were in danger, if I could pull off a Curse, I wouldn't hesitate to do it. No one messes with my friends. >(

What single quality goes the furthest in defining who you are?: My honesty. I am blunt, and if you ask me for the truth and nothing but the truth, you will get it. I can be tactful when need be, but mostly, I'm too blunt and can go too far. It defines be because I'm not the type to just sit by and be stepped all over. If I need to be heard, I will be, I can guarantee you on that. It's always been me in life who's had to step in and just spill the beans and make myself heard, because no on else would speak up. And people also come to me for advice a lot, so I've just learned to not sugar coat my answers, and tell people what they need to hear.

What makes a person respectable?: I think a person can be seen as most respectable if, no matter what circumstances are present in their lives, they're still willing to go on working day in and day out, still willing to make something out of themselves despite what others say, and still willing to go on living. It's not what the person does that makes them respectable in my view; it's how they do it.

What do you look for in a friend? : Mostly, trustworthyness, honesty, mixed in with weird and cool. I don't have a tendency to dislike specific types of people. I just like a person for who they are. It takes a lot to earn my trust, and all a person has to do is prove to me they'll be honest and they won't backstab me. After that, they can be any which way they want, and I've got no problem with it.

What qualities do you possess from each of the four houses?: Ah, let’s see here. I’ll go down the list. A Gryffindor quality I have is unwavering loyalty to those who’ve earned it in my eyes, and unless I’m given a pretty good reason to, I sure as heck won’t let you down or betray you. A Ravenclaw quality I have is that is using the intelligence I have. I’ve been known to be really creative and come up with solutions in unorthodox situations quite a few times. A Hufflepuff quality I have is that I work well in teams, and when it comes down to it, it’s all for one in order to get the job done right. Finally, a Slytherin quality I think I have is my ability to avoid problems when necessary. No need to fight if it’s a waste of time.

If you could change one thing about the world what would it be?: I'd change the fact that people don't help each other out more. The way I see it, things are getting harder and colder, and it's now that we need to give each other a hand every now and then, but no one does it. We're too scared to do it, because we can't trust others. I'm not saying we should blindly trust everyone. But at the same time, why should we doubt everyone? If we could learn to trust smartly and to just help each other get up every now and then, I think a lot of things would be different, and that maybe living would be a lot easier for most. Yeah, I'm a dreamer.

If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?: I'd change my self-esteem. For a lot of reasons I don't care to mention, it's all but gone. There are a lot of things that I think are terrible about me, and I tend to put myself down a lot for things that aren't even bothersome. It's not that I lack confidence. You can still be confident and think that you're a terrible person. I would just like to be convinced that not everyone is out to get me, and that I can do plenty of things right and that I do have talents. I dunno, someday I just want to be able to like myself more, basically.

If you were an animagus, what would you turn into? (Assuming that the animal reflects the person, it is not chosen.): For my animagus form, I think I’d take the form of a butterfly. I love them almost to death, and I’ve always been fascinated by all the different patterns they can take on. They’re not exactly practical, since anyone could probably kill a butterfly in one hit, but they’re also fast and they fly. I think that’s why it could represent me. I can’t fly (I wish -_-), but I can get out of tight situations easy.

In which house do you think you belong, and why?: Well...I’m not really sure if I belong there, but I do admire the Gryffindor house tons. Being brave and adventurous seems so unpopular nowadays, but it takes a lot of inner strength to stay true to yourself and to defend others. It also takes a lot of inner strength to stand up and fight in the face of adversity, since most people would easily back out and take the easy way out.

Which house would you place your best friend in? And why are they your best friend?: I'd put my best pal in Ravenclaw. She's just smart, calm and clever overall. She's pretty fast-witted too. She thinks things out before jumping in, which is why she's the one to pull me back sometimes before I do something crazy. And that's one of the reasons she's my best pal. She helps me out, she helps me keep my sanity, and she's like the conscious I don't have. I think I'd be a very different person if we'd never crossed paths. And she understands my humor and my way of thinking, and doesn't question it. That's more than what I can ask for.

How did you find us? If it was from a post say where and who posted it.: Actually, I just found this off faeriesfolly's LJ info. ^^;
