Name: Wil
Age: over 25
Favorite Subject at Hogwarts: Potions, because they're complex and there is a lot of potential for creativity. Also because I would enjoy locking myself up in quiet to make them.
How do you spend your leisure time at Hogwarts?: Reading a lot, or just talking to friends. I don't like being locked inside, so I explore the grounds a lot. I might even be adventurous and try to find places out of the grounds to explore. I would probably not go to any quidditch matches of my own volition - but friends would drag me there and I would have fun all the same.
If you could store one memory in a Pensieve, what would it be? A walk I took with my father on a spring afternoon, and if at all possible, every possible word he told me then - it was the last time I had a quality moment before he went out of my life.
If you were to face a boggart, what would it turn into?: Snakes. Oooooh, snakes. Oh yes it would. *shudder* I'm even afraid of them when I see them on TV. Just the thought of snakes... *gah* I apologize, this is getting incoherent. I should stop now.
What would you see in the Mirror of Erised?: Myself, having a very successful academic career with a lot of gifted students.
What advice would you give to a younger version of yourself? Don't put so much stock on others. You're good enough not to need to rely on other people's validation as much as you do.
Would you have put your name in the Goblet of Fire?: Only if no-one else did. I don't have that much self-confidence - or maybe it's just that I don't want the pressure. I'm not sure. I might lack drive for things like this - I've always been a reluctant leader or performer.
Harry Potter: Hero, Attention-Seeker, or Normal Kid in a Bad Situation? And Why?Hero, so far. To do what he needs to do, he does have to be at the center of attention, but he does not strike me as particularly eager for it. I'm not going to call him Normal Kid in a Bad Situation, because as much as I love him, he's not particularly mainstream.
Voldemort: Evil, Genius, or just plain Misunderstood? And why? Evil Genius? I mean, he does have remarkable talent with magic, which qualifies him as a genius. What he does, no matter how good his Freudian excuse can be, is unacceptable under any circumstances, therefore I grant him the Evil.
Under what circumstances would you use an Unforgivable Curse?: I don't think I would ever use Crucio under any circumstance at all. If there was no other way to achieve a primordial goal, I would probably use Imperio, because I'm Machiavellian like that. The only way I could end up using Aveda Kadavra would be under very extreme duress - I would have to be completely out of control and damn pissed off to use it. I'm not sure such an extreme is possible, but one should never say never.
What single quality goes the furthest in defining who you are?: Hmmph. Self-reflexive. I try to think a lot about what kind of person I am, and what I can do to be a better person.
What makes a person respectable?: Giving respect to others. Respect is earned, not due.
If you had to choose between your family, your friends, and your own beliefs, what would you do? My own beliefs. If I am not true to myself, I cannot be a good friend or a good daughter.
What do you look for in a friend? : Loyalty and honesty are very important to me. I need to feel that I can trust my friends - and I need to know that my trust in grounded in shared values.
Put the following words in order of importance to you: 1 - Justice, 2 - Honor, 3 - Duty, 4 - Family, 5 - Friendship, 6 - Tradition, 7 - Power
If you could have either a well paid easy job that did not task you mentally, or a lower paying job which gave you the freedom to pursue your interests, which would you choose? I would choose the lower paying job that gave me leave to pursue my interests. In fact, I have done this, and I have no regrets.
What qualities do you possess from each of the four houses? From Griffyndor, I could say I have a chivalric side - in other words, I do have a code of values and I hold very strictly to it. This probably touches into my strong belief in fair play, which is a Hufflepuff characteristic. However, I do fit in with Ravenclaw's profile with regards to my scholarly endeavors and interests, which are a very important part of who I am. Though I am not particularly ambitious, my desire to succeed at a high standard in academia probably fits in with Slitheryn's ideology.
If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be? I would probably... want more humility. I'm in a good place where my self-esteem is concerned, altogether. It's a dangerous slope to be on.
If you were an animagus, what would you turn into? (Assuming that the animal reflects the person, it is not chosen.) Probably a cat, because I'm very independent.
In which house do you think you belong, and why?: I think I would belong in Ravenclaw because of my general nerdiness, but really, I could see good reasons to sort me in any of the four houses.
