Rhoda

(or A Poem For Rhoda Because She Said I Couldn't Write One When I Am Clearly An Under-Appreciated Genius Like All Great Geniuses)

Rhoda has hair
That is long and is dark
Like a nearly night sky
Or blackbirds in the park.
Her eyes are brown too
Some might say like mud
But not this dear poet
Or she'll have his blood
So he'll say they are warm
Like a rich chocolate cake
Akin to the kind that Neville
Refuses to bake
Her skin is like snow
That hasn't been trampled
By girls in high heels
With frames that are ample
If I had a hat
I would doff it to her
Even though she would scorn me
And call me a cur
While soft on the eyes
She can be hard on the ears
Prickly and hurtful
And reduce you to tears
But I know that she's sweet
Likes to plays hard to get
And has a gentle side
I just haven't seen yet
The words of this poet
Will make fair maiden swoon
From her lips fall the words
"I'm over the moon
Enamored and powerless
By the talent and grace
That you use to describe
The things like my face."
I could go on forever
I could say so much more
But I'll finish it here
O ice queen I adore!

awesome poetry
