Posts from over a week ago are still on the first page of my friend's list. The lack of activity does not inspire me to write. Some external muses and the promise of interaction would help, and did in the past. I've never actively looked for friends on livejournal, and I don't know how I feel about starting now. At least today and the past few days ( Read more... )

I go through periods of not really feeling like writing much on here, too. I think it does change as we go through different phases in life.

What's different is that I feel like writing, but I don't know what to write, or more specifically, what to write here.

I think the transitional times are more conducive to writing; that's when there's growth and things to sort out. But my life feels like a constant transition, so I should not be having an issue with this!

i've heard you say things like this many times, and i am frankly baffled. i can't think of another blog i've ever read where the author gets better comments than you do. the people who comment here seem to 'get' you at a deeper level than i've ever seen before.

i don't know if this counts as an assignment, but i know what i'm hoping to hear about, anyway:

apparently you finally got the college thing worked out, after a near-infinite number of fits and starts. what changed? what is your major? what do you plan to do with the degree, when you get it? there have been little hints here and there that you have an idea of what you're going to do with yourself, post-college. this calls for elaboration.

at one point you were supporting yourself playing poker. still true? if not, what replaced it? i've read blogs of a lot of people who formerly played poker for a living, and the reasons why they quit sound awfully similar. i'm wondering if you'll fit that pattern as well.

It's about other blogs, not comments. You are one of the only friends on my page! The number of comments I've been getting is astronomical compared to the sadness of my friend's page.

I think I'll make an entry in response to your questions.

I don't post frequently here, to be honest. As in the past, I use it for commenting and reading other people's LJs! :-)

I still have a separate blog though that hasn't gotten much attention either. For now, I chalk these things up to procrastination. I have a running to-do list which does include an update of some variety... which includes downloading all my photos and uploading them for people to see.

Maybe you guys can give me some writing assignments. I guess this is an invitation to be nosy, too.

Hah. I see this and all I can think of are story prompts! That's where my head's mostly been in these days (as you can see from my back entries). Yes, I have gone back to that old past-time of fanfic writing, though not in the Buffy fandom.

And speaking of Buffy, have you heard that WB is planning on making a Buffy reboot (of the movie, I think) but without input from Joss? What are your thoughts on it, my old Buffy-trivia-guru?

She seriously has been putting the rest of us writer types to shame. I think the last time I wrote a chapter in my book was um...well...so long ago I don't remember. 9 months? A year? (My poor "fans" lol). So yes, she puts me to shame any day. I'm so impressed with her perseverance in the writing arena.

Personally, I blame an English major for wiping out any motivation to write in my book. Poems are an entirely different story - short little moments of inspiration that tend to only take me 30 mins max makes a huge difference. ;)

And I just have to weigh in... Buffy remake without Joss? Just stupid. And didn't they already do that the first go around? What would make this any different than the original? Keep in mind, I was a total squee-freak for the movie itself, which made me watch the series.......but that's beside the point. *cough*

Um. Well. That's because most of my new LJ friends are from that fandom and I've been reading and becoming inspired. Not to mention that having something new coming out (like movies) have really helped! Also, I've been driven by a singular goal: get my story ideas out first before the films inspire fandom to write something similar.

And yes, it's been a while since you've written your own story, Keri! :-) But schoolwork comes before personal stuff, right?

As for Buffy, if I read the articles correctly, it's a reboot of the Kristy Swanson movie but it'll be set post-high school, so I don't really understand how this will work. At any rate, it won't be a part of the official BtVS canon then, given how Joss feels about this movie to come.

I still stick to my comment -- you put the rest of us to shame! Shame, I tell you! ;)

Well, see...I normally have the schoolwork excuse going on. But I didn't even write a chapter during my 4 month summer hiatus. Now I'm back in school for 8 months straight (er well, 6 more months I guess), which means I really won't wanna write. I'm so cruel to the people who actually do read this thing on Fictionpress. So cruel. lol

Here's the thing....if Joss is not liking what's happening with the reboot, doesn't that basically mean it's going to suck? AND why would they want to do a Buffy reboot completely separate from the series? To me, it would make more sense to make a standalone movie with the Buffy series actors. Alas...maybe SMG still refuses to do anything. lol

I'd be interested in an entry about the central themes from your study of religious studies that you find most intriguing, which inspired you to pursue the field, or which you are focusing your own work or thoughts in. How has your view of religion been shaped by certain facts you have learned? Which dilemmas are Kristen's brain wrapped around?

Right now my brain is wrapped around term papers and finals, but these are cool questions, and I'll answer them soonish.

What are you doing now that you've graduated? What projects/places are on the horizon? What are some of the (abstract) ideas you're thinking about recently?
