take a can opener, turn it to the side, and whack the lid. whack hard enough to create dents. do this around all around the top the lid, near the edge. it should open with ease after a good whacking! always works for me! you'll be fine.

Kitty, eh? There's an adorable orange tabby that my brother's been feeding for a few months that they probably can't keep because one of their current cats HATES him. But he's super-sweet and loves people even on first meeting. And they've been calling him Oliver (speaking of the show...). We'd take him (I want an orange cat and a black cat!) but we might be in trouble with our apartment people...Alternately, of course, there are tons of cat rescue places. Even PetsMart. And it's so sweet to have a little kitty to come home to.
