Must the fog follow so soon after the rain? This... definitely does not seem very common around any place that I've set my foot on. It is almost as if this brings something ominous to us all... I cannot help but have this sort of thinking ( Read more... )

They'll eat you, you know.

Pardon? I don't believe I follow, Lord Caim.

Whatever lies in the fog, Lord Zalbag. Pick your flesh right off your bones, I'm sure. I wonder what a lord would taste like to them.

Allow me to be frank, Lord Caim.

Where is Lord Caim and what has been done with him?

Fine. You can be Frank, but I'm still calling you Lord Zalbag.

Tell me what you know of seals and districts.

Seals? I know nothing of seals, Lord Caim. Unless you speak of ones that are... attached on top of jars when you remove the top cap?

....I'm afraid something has changed within you, Lord Caim.

Hardly. If I wanted a jar opened, I'd use my sword. Glass will not be an obstruction to my achievements.

Something changes in us all, does it not? Time changes people. You should know this above any other.

Yes, I understand. Though... I do not believe it is made of glass. It is made of a substance called plastic?

I also understand that but... you were only gone but a fortnight. Mayhap two.

...Did something occur while you were away, Lord Caim..?

...That is entirely not what I am talking about. I speak of keys and seals placed upon confined entities!

A fortnight or two for you. Three years for me. Clearly Aegean runs on a very differing timeline.

I am aware not of keys and seals of this... entity, Lord Caim. Nor do I believe such a thing that holds this very... timeline exists. What holds keys and seals such importance to you? You've not spoken of them before...

And mayhap you are right... that time passes quite differently at other locations...

I had never needed to. I am here, looking for something known as a 'seal'. Once I find it, I will destroy it. As you know, a key opens a lock. A seal is very much the same.

It would seem that it does as you seem no different than last we met.

I see... what would destroying a seal accomplish, Lord Caim?

You must admit, however. Time will only change one if they allow it. There are many who choose to stay the same, no matter how time passes.

Freedom.

A person who doesn't change with time is someone refusing to change. Someone who remains the same is drab and dull.
