I have a question, if anyone knows:

I vaguely remember a story with an island on a river, where some sort of supernatural being was trapped. Everybody living around knew better than to listen what the voice from the river island is talking to them, only one child decided to talk to it instead, eventually befriending the thing.

Now, the question is

That sounds a little like the plot of a well-known Reddit horror story called The Spire in the Woods. I don't think it is that one, though. TSITW is much darker than what you describe, and rather than befriending the entity on the island the boy becomes completely obsessed. I would still recommend it, as long as you keep in mind that it's a horror story. :O

Thanks! What I found doesn't sound like anything I've read before - but that's even better! Maybe even more people had an idea like that. It's always easier to read something written by someone else than sit and write it myself.
(am I going to spend this night with similar creepypastas? very, very likely^^)
