Once at a cookout over the summer someone wanted to roll their corn on the butter. He asked, "Is it ok I take give it a ride?" I said sure. I told him to take a ride in the butter saddle.

Crunching numbers has never turned me on so much.

Come over to the No Tell Motel this week. My poems are up there. We are drinking PBR. The lights are low. We might ruin this hotel room.

I got my letter today from the fine folks over at Octopus that my manuscript didn't make the big eight in their big print contest. I did get a swell button, though.

I finished reading Kim Cooper's book about Neutral Milk Hotel's In The Aeroplane Over The Sea. She did a very sweeping portrayal of the record and its genesis as a bunch of kids swapping mix tapes as teenagers. She infused a lot of quotes from people that were in Neutral Milk Hotel or from Athens, GA during the time leading up to the recordings ( Read more... )
