For awhile I thought Palmer would end up as the new Ashbery, as far as influence goes. Look at the all-too-prolific Noah Eli Gordon, totally riffing on Palmer -- and there are others.

That NML album -- man, memories. Back in Dover, Delaware, the year 2000, I was living in a shitty dump, and I was mad for this ample-chested frizzy-frock-haired ditzy girl who, amazingly, really dug that album, and drew me into listening to it more and more. My my how I wanted to plunder (blunder) all up in that goofy softness of her. So, dig, that album takes me back and I don't like it back there, really, so I haven't heard it in years and years.
