So! A scenario to inspire the creative mind:
On some days, Watanuki thinks back to his pre-shop-owner days--days of I am the Great Watanuki-sama, and you are just Doumeki and You two are such good friends and Oi, did you bring the bento and You ungrateful swine--days of Ne, Watanuki, more sake and Watanuki-spelled-April-first and Oi, you lush, this is slave labor--when, despite the chaos of his young life, he had existed in a sphere of happiness and effusive warmth, of relatively blithe ignorance that both was and was not innocence. He thinks of those days, and he smokes his pipe, and he drinks.

"The world is a strange place for him. The person he loves and wants to protect doesn't always make the best choices as regards his own safety, won't ever return his feelings and at times seems to forget he even exists, but that won't stop him from loving him and doing his very best to keep him safe.
He'll stay by his side, watching him moon after somebody else, give himself entirely to others for entirely the wrong reasons, and only call on him in times of dire need. But when he is needed, he'll move the earth and the sky to keep him safe and let him know he is loved, because loving is about giving without expecting anything in return.
And as his name is Mugetsu, he will never stop loving him."
'Cause stories written from unreliable POVs are fuuuun. :D
(And btw, you don't need to include those paragraphs in your story. I just thought it would be interesting the write the prompt that way. :P)

and came up with this:
'It feels as though he's drowning, the constant sweet fragrance of the pipe smoke that incircles him day and night, his behaviour growing irritable by the hour,by the minute.
Doumeki won't leave, and he's petrified one day he will suddenly get injured because of himself, the enigmatic shop owner.Yet,does he notice that the archer regardless, would break any promise, the back of their tied bond,to keep him safe?"
