The Rules
the R U L E S
1. After reading the rules, sign up for the exchange round during the assigned sign up period. We will accept back-up gifters after this time, but will not assign any new gifts. We highly encourage back-up gifters. See the FAQ for more info.
2. After signing up, join the community. This will give you posting access when the time comes to post your gift. All posts are moderated to ensure that none of the gifts are posted early. We also encourage you to watch the community for updates, because we'll remind you of the due dates as they come.
3. Finish your gift and post it to holiday_ouran by the deadline. You MAY NOT post your gift anywhere else before posting it here, and you won't be allowed to post it here before the beginning of posting week. The due dates are clearly posted in the signup thread, so make sure you'll be able to make the date before signing up.
4. A gift can be a variety of different media, each with its own requirements: fanfiction, graphics, art, etc. Fanfiction must be at least 1,000 words long, graphics must include a banner and matching icon, fanmixes should have coverart and at least 6 songs, art should be scanned and presentable, hopefully colored. (Contact one of the mods if you have a question about this. Figuring out what counts is an art form in itself!)
5. If you will be late: If you realize at some point in your gift-making that you will be unable to post your gift by the due date, contact one of the mods. If your gift is more than two week late, we consider it to be the same as rule 6: defaulting.
6. If you are unable to finish your gift: If you realize that you won't be able to finish your gift anywhere near the due date (or at all!), contact the mods at least two weeks before the final due date. This allows us enough time to assign a backup gifter to your prompt.
7. At holiday_ouran, we aren't stringent about ratings or subjects. Yaoi, smut, and incest (um, Hitachin twins, much?) are all welcome here (as long as your giftee gives you to go-to, of course). The mods only ask that material that could be considered inappropriate be marked, and that fake cuts be used for NC-17 gifts.
