If wishes were kisses...

Hi all!  I was recently introduced to this community by my sister and I think it's a fantastic concept and gives my heart warm fuzzies!  I'm Lily, 27 and currently living in Ontario.  I've been lurking and reading for the past week or so and have been able to grant a few wishes - and hopefully will be able to grant a lot more!

Here are my wishes for 2008:
  1. Friendship - I would love to get to know more people and expand my circle of friends - be it via lj, as penpals or email buddies - I'd love to get to know you.  Who doesn't smile when they open mail that isn't a bill?  It's always nice to know that someone out there is thinking of you.  My profile is sparse, but if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
  2. Give - If you are able to give a monetary donation, please consider donating to the MS Society of Canada.  Every year, I participate in the Super Cities Walk to raise money to find a cure and you can visit my sponsor page here.  On the flip-side, "free" donations are just as valuable and won't cost you a penny.  Give a smile.  Give a hug.  Give a compliment.  Give thanks.  Give time.  Give love.
  3. Knitted Goodies - I would love something handmade and cozy for the winter.  In particular, I would love a kitty hat with ear flaps or mittens with a string.  (Yes, yes, I know I'm 27 and not 7 - but they're so cute!)  It's very hard to find mittens on a string for grown ups!
  4. Cupcake Things - Cupcakes are my favourite food.  If I could live only on cupcakes without going into diabetic shock, I would!  I would love anything cupcake related - recipes, jewelery, books, mixes, pans, cupcake liners, etc.  If anyone knows of bobby pins with cupcakes on them, that would be so cute!
  5. Socks - It's really hard to find socks that aren't too big for me because standard socks are 9-11 for ladies, and children's socks are generally too small.  I normally wear a size 5-6 shoe, so if you can find small-ish socks, I would really appreciate it.
  6. Share - A story, a joke, a song, a secret, a confession, a fun fact - anything that you want!  Make me laugh. Make me cry.  Make me laugh so hard I cry.  I'm all ears (eyes?) and I won't judge/tell anyone else/do anything except offer you an ear.
  7. Mint Tins - Ok, this is a strange one, I know.  But I collect mint tins that I think look interesting or fun.  I have ones that look like a corset, a baseball, have funny sayings on them, from different cities or landmarks, etc.  The mints don't have to actually still be in them, just the tin is ok!  (Weird, I know!)
  8. Girly Goodies - I love all things girly.  I love pink. I love my cat.  I love bracelets and pretty smelling lotions and flowers...the list goes on. My  not-so-secret addictions are purses, shoes, and anything Guess.
  9. Tolerance - We are so fortunate to live in a day and age when we are able to interact on a daily basis with people from all different walks of life.  Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, beliefs and values.  Just because we don't agree with something, doesn't mean it is wrong.  This holiday season (and all year round), please remember to be tolerant of others, patient and open-minded.
  10. Optimism - So often we get wrapped up in all the bad things in our life that we forget all the good things.  We get angry and frustrated and hold on to negative thoughts instead of finding our silver linings.  Let it go.  Focus on the positive and remember that tomorrow is another day.
My email address is smoochme [at] gmail [dot] com - please put Holiday Wishes somewhere in the subject so it doesn't get sent to my junk mail.

Thanks and happy & warm holidays to you all!  Now - go hug someone (don't forget your cats too!)  :)
