Harvey Milk ruled, everyone who actually knew about him knows he ruled, some assholes on the internet crying about it doesn't change how much he ruled. Though I do have to say he did kind of define himself by his sexuality and encouraged people to "forcibly out" closeted gays to help his movement gain recognition. Pretending he's just another joe who did good stuff regardless of sexuality does him a disservice.

In New Jersey, at least, gay men aren't allowed to donate blood based on the assumption they are much more likely to have AIDS. In highschool, a friend was asked if he had had sex with another man and was then told he could not donate.
