why can they look at me, even smile at me, but NEVER ever talk to me. Sometimes I feel like maybe I really will have to make the first move, but strangers creep me out, so the likely hood of that happening is slim to none. Oh well, life goes on.

i get intimidated ususally. but it never hurts to try the first move. gender doesn't dictate the first move. although i understand the novelty of a guy making the first move. i'd be flattered to have a woman approach me. and i'd be flattered to have a man approach me if i was a woman.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. Guys are expected to make the first move still... but BOY does that fear of rejection have a loud, intimidating snarl on it. I know it's only when you get on the other side of the fence do you discover it's only a terrier or beagle... but it still sounds very scary.
