It's happened several times, this year, that people I've felt quite close to have not invited me to their weddings. At the same time, people I don't feel close to at all have all but insisted that I be at theirs.

What's up with that?

Maybe people know they're probably going end up divorced, and they don't want to waste the time of close friends, so they invite acquaintances to be ornaments for their ceremonies.
