makes me think of fridays (used to be sundays) outside the scherzo with oliver quoting prufrock at the tops of your voices. yes, ladies and gentlemen, hollay and i are that cool. and apparently so is oliver. "let us FUCKING go then, you and i, when the FUCKING evening is spread out against the FUCKING sky..."
i first read this poem when i was 13 and i didn't 'understand' it the way i think i do now(haha. pretentious english student moment), but i knew there was something i about it i could not explain. i will never read eliot the same way twice and for that i love him to death. if i had to take a book to a desert island with me, it would be The Wasteland and other poems. or maybe Prufrock and Other Observations.
