Navy.

So here I go again thinking about all of the things that I would like to accomplish in my life. You know the things that I want to do. The only problem is the lack of anything to help me get there. I mean no job, money, friends. I mean i do have friends, but they are all in different states in the Us. I mean ALL over the map. My family is no ( Read more... )

Just a thought or an analogy. mind_feild February 18 2010, 09:02:27 UTC
Reading your recent post, a picture came to mind of holly_noel as a fish that the tide swept into a tidal pool, waiting for the next wave to come in and sweep her back into the open water once again. Life is like that, yes it is, :) !

Are you going to be:

A fish that is going to find an ocean current and explore the world?

A fish that gets swallowed up by the big fish and becomes as one with it?

A fish called "Jonah", to be swallowed up by the whale and released to follow her destiny afterwards?

A fish that gets caught up in a net, to either become cat food, or a beautiful specimen in a tank to be admired by all who see her?

A side thought: Where do they find these square fish that end up being sold at McDonald's? :)

Me, I'll be the cat sitting on the hill top, with tail moving slowly back and forth, looking down at the city thinking of all the possibilities and potentials spread out before me, :) !

No, it wasn't a fish, :) mind_feild February 19 2010, 01:20:16 UTC
I had to Google "monroe" to see what it was, sounded like it might be like a "mullet" hair style or something, lol ! Think I'll go back and play with the dinosaurs now, :) !

I spent several years in the military, (Army, Viet Nam Era) and in doing so, have seen what takes place that the media does not tell about military people because it does not help their causes. What being in the military is, it gives you a front row seat into the daily lives of the people that 'every body back home' want to think of as hero's and such. Some can be deserving of such acclaim to be sure, but as a general rule, no ( ... )

No worries friend. I have a brother in the Marines, and most of my friends are marines, and my cousin is in the Army, and a well known friend is in the Navy. I know what I'm getting myself into, well as much as i can know that is...My couisn is in Iraq and my brother just got home from deployment, I know what they think about the sevices. Lol. My brother says that I will hate myself if I join the Marines. I have heard how accident prone the Army is over seas, and how sometimes just don't pay attention. I know how alot of the wepons used against the U.S. are the US's ammo that was left behind for one reason or another. But that's besides the point ( ... )

I knew alot of what you have shared..but thatks for warning me anyways. I know the risks and I think that it's sad that Im still willing to take them. The thingis I really have nothing else and I have always wanted to join the Navy, so I am.

Since the economy is so bad though, the ASVAB scores have to be highr1 It use to be that you only had to score a 32, I believe and now its a 50 something. YEA! Thank God Im smart. lol..Not bragging, just really thankful!
