There is. Three of the other tips of the pentagram are the intersections of six major roads. If I remember correctly, the whole area is crammed with geometric freemason tricks.
While I could be mistaken - I believe that many of the roads in the CD area (and many of the old cities in the original colonies) have similar road design so that the predominant buildings could look down the streets and see if they were being attacked at which time minute men (the local militia) could be called into action to defend the area. (Plus, I think in the case of the white house, it’s set up so that you can see the different memorials and statues when looking down in each direction).
Could totally have miss paraphrased my elementary history - but that’s what comes to mind.
