Since i've posted very little this year (mainly because I think posting to HollyComics is ENOUGH... After that I hardly feel like updating this one as well anymore I admit...) I decided to post this 2006-overview Meme. As seen on Niche's lj.
1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Went traveling abroad all on my own.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
New years resolutions are meant to be broken! But nah, I don't do New Years resolutions. They suck.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not yet, but i'm waiting for a birth-cardsie I designed to be chucked down our mailbox from a friend/client in January. :D
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not this year.
5. What countries did you visit?
England and Czech Republic.
6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
A fun job and a girlfriend.
7. What dates from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
London in the summertime :) And christmas at the Preston Palace (some kind of all-in hotel) where we stayed this year for my parent's 12,5 year anniversary.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
That I made it to London and back in one piece on my own, and that I told loads of birthday calendars. Oh! And that I got to do a test assignment for the children's magazine Bobo and that they will actually use my drawings!
9. What was your biggest failure?
My job.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Just the regular. Crazy heartbeats, bronchitis, Parrot-disease.. ;D
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My 12-string. *Hugs!* Such a pretty guitar! I like it even better then my new camera. :)
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Niche, who despite of her bi-atching about everything (mainly work) achieved SO much this year. And stepdad Fred, who has to do two hard jobs at the same time and has really long days. In january or february one of the jobs will stop though and he will have more time for himself/us ;)
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My boss and my dad, but i'm sure I don't need to explain why ;D
14. Where did most of your money go?
Traveling I think. Two countries in one year... And I also made some expensive purchases like a new camera and my 12-string, they weren't cheap either :S
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
*Thinks* The birth of my dwarfiebabyparrotthing Yubi, who's growing big, fat, and cuddly.
16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
Love you more by Raccoon and Dimming of the day, David Gilmour's version. Because I have to play them to my fam'ly every friday night. *Rubs fingers* I'm still not entirely used to that new 12-string though, ouchie...

Sadder

Fatter

Beats me, I never check how much money I have...
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Being with my friends.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Sitting on my ass, playing WoW. (I LOVE WoW, don't get me wrong, but it's way too addicting.)
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
We already spent it, in the Preston Palace all-in hotel where you can feed, drink and play games at will! We swam, we got drunk (I tried but couldn't), we bowled, and we pigged-in till we couldn't eat any more.
21. Did you fall in love in 2006?
No new crushes developed this year.
22. How many one-night stands?
None. (Unfortunately ;)
23. What was your favorite TV program?
The L-word. *Cough* At least I have the balls to admit it. ;D
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Hate is a big word. I can say that I built up a certain dislike for some people, yeah. Mainly my boss (though he tries SO hard to be liked nowadays) and a certain colleague.
25. What was the best book you read?
Small Gods by Terry Pratchett :) Oh, and Harry Potter and the half-blood prince was pretty good too though (like Niche) I cannot remember if that was this year or last year.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Hmm... I guess Barry, my friend in our local Theater Groupsie which I am part of. I didn't know he could sing that well :)
27. What did you want and get?
If you want something, you gotta get it yourself. Which is why I treated myself to my 12-string.
28. What did you want and not get?
A girlfriend and a nice job. Mainly a girlfriend, that is what i'd like more then anything.
29. What was your favorite film of this year?
Disney's Oliver & Co which I had never seen before. Good music man!
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 24 and went to the funfair with Da Nichah.
31.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
This answer keeps repeating its self, doesn't it? A girlfriend and a nice job.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
I spent most of the year in three fashion styles. The most frequently worn are my working clothes. (Sloppy, big pants with a lot of pockets and a red shirt with BOS on it). Then comes my pj's (wide pants and a random t-shirt) and then my "Damn, i've got to go socialize" outfit. (Blue jeans, random warm wooly sweater.)
33. What kept you sane?
I'm ready for the nuthouse actually. ;)
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Well, I really like Shane of the L-word, and the girl that plays Susan Bones in Hogfather.
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
That the Dutch political figures actually debate about Madonna adopting a kid from far-away-istan. What the fuck? Really, are we paying them for this?
36. Who did you miss?
Nina and Steve. Not Niche because she sucks. (Nah ;) I just speak to her regularly :)
37. Who was the best new person you met?
Michelle and Richard from Nottingham. And their pet Snail. *Shudder*
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006:
People suck. If you agree, get (more) pets.
