Crap! I have some very important thingies to print (job applications and whatnot) and my printer's being a bitch. Can anyone help me

I had a HP Deskjet and it stopped working once because the 'lock' on the door at the back (for getting trapped paper out) had been turned slightly...
It was about 10 minutes before I had to hand in an essay, too ;)
