apparently Mother Nature didn't like the idea of it and decided that it should rain to prevent that miraculous event from ever taking place. Sigh. I guess we Dorringtons were meant to be remembered as the ones in the outfield praying that the ball would go the other way
and
as
"speedster on the bases" (which never made sense to me, but I guess there was no other name available!)

So, yeah. No baseball for me. Ah well. I guess my shining sports moment is yet to come...
