I have tried to use the "I'm writing a book and its just for science" approach numerous times to no avail.

Where do I find the individuals interested in doing a strictly scientific study of this topic, you know, to give it an updated view from todays day and age? I am all for putting in the required effort for such an intellectual endeavor...
