I wanted to share with all of you a website that has become one of my favorites:

AnySoldier.comThis is a really cool website in which Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and Sailors write from Iraq, Afghanistan or wherever they are stationed. The purpose is to let the home audience know what it is they need - be it basic toiletries, snacks to supplement ( Read more... )

I saw Gary Sinise on TV the other day talking about Operation Iraqi Children. I totally did not know that he founded the group.

Yeah, isn't it interesting how our paths cross again? I remember when I was on the Gary Sinise listserve when I was like a sophomore in college!

We didn't have no stinkin website back in 90-91! People just sent packages and letters and they never stopped coming. Kids these days...

I believe people used to be able to send things to an address, like Operation Dear Abby or Dear Any Servicemember, if they didn't know anyone over there, so it would get distributed. Now, because of bioterrorism threats and the like, mail can't be delivered unless it is addressed to a specific person.
