The good health report was a relief because I seem to have great dificulty remembering to take the twice daily diabetes pills. Scarcely a week goes by that I don't miss one pill so I was feeling guuilty about that. Hope your back problems are settling down.
Good that you understand about the card dilemma. At least I got the ornament exchange completed in a timely fashion with magnificent results though I says it myself as didn't ought to! No photos sorry.
Why do we women find so many things to feel guilty about and so little to praise ourselves for? I sure feel guilty about those unfinished knitting projects!
Here is the listing so far. Africa: 6, South Africa, Nigeria, Nairobi, Egypt, Togo, Mozambique Asia: 6, Pakistan, India, Japan, Middle East, China, Lebanon Europe: 6, France, UK, Serbia, Italy, Amsterdam, Berlin Na/Ca/Caribbean: 3, USA, CA Amazon River journey, Canada Oceania: 5, New Zealand, Australia, Niue, PNG, Cook Islands South America: 2, Brazil, Uruguay I'm partway through one set in Guantanamo, one set in the Caribean and one written by Isabel Allende from Peru so when they are done that will leave 5 and it is just possible I might finish by 31 Dec. The so useful librarian has sent me three more names and I guess that means that she knows they are in at present. Also there is one in the mail from The Book Depository written by a SAmoan author so things are looking good. Next year I'll concentrate earlier in the year and also aim for different countries in the continents.
May I ask what pills you take for diabetes? A couple of months ago I shifted from diet-only to daily doses of Metformin. These pills are intended to improve your body's efficiency in producing insulin, but they have the welcome side-effect of producing energy too! I feel 30 years younger! :)
I too take metformin and have done for maybe three years now. This seems to keep me at a blood sugar level that satisfies the medicos. While I'm not clear on the science behind it I can tell you that the regular checks of my hba1c (???) level that can miraculously determine what the bs level has averaged in the last 3 monthsare just fine. I think they have changed the numbers they use now and this time it was 42. How I don't know but I was delighted with the result this check-up especially as I do, about once per week miss one of the two daily tablets. I was also pleased that the diabetes nurse I saw says that if you are on metformin it is not necessary for your own regular pin-prick blood tests. That please me no end. Merry Christmas to you both. And a well-controlled 2013.
